Beth mae Eos yn ei wneud?
What we do?
Fel asiantaeth hawliau darlledu gwaith Eos ydi casglu a dosbarthu breindaliadau darlledu i’w haelodau. Bydd hyn yn digwydd pedair gwaith y flwyddyn gyda’r taliadau yn digwydd tua 6-8 wythnos ar ôl pob taliad PRS.
Pob blwyddyn mae darlledwyr yn talu ffi trwydded i Eos am yr hawl i ddarlledu gweithiau ei haelodau. Er mwyn rhedeg ei gweinyddiaeth, ar hyn o bryd mae Eos yn cymryd comisiwn o 20% o bob ffi trwydded sy’n cael ei dalu. Mae’r comisiwn hwn yn talu am gostau swyddfa’r weinyddiaeth, am gyflogau staff ac unrhyw gostau eraill sy’n gysylltiedig â gwaith yr asiantaeth.
Unwaith mae Eos wedi casglu ffi trwydded gan ddarlledwr, mae wedyn yn mynd ati i rannu’r ffi rhwng ei haelodau. Ni fydd unrhyw daliad yn cael ei wneud i aelod hyd nes i gyfanswm ei freindal gyrraedd £10 neu fwy. Mae faint mae aelod yn cael ei dalu yn dibynnu ar faint o ddefnydd sydd wedi cael ei wneud o’i weithiau. Mae hyn yn cael ei alw’n broses ddosrannu:

As a broadcasting rights agency, Eos's job is to collect and distribute broadcast royalties to its members. This happens four times a year with payments occurring approximately 6-8 weeks after each PRS payment.
Each year broadcasters pay Eos a license fee for the right to broadcast its members' works. In order to run its administration, Eos currently takes a commission of 20% of all license fees paid. This commission covers the administration office costs, staff salaries and any other costs associated with the work of the agency.
Once Eos has collected a license fee from a broadcaster, it then proceeds to split the fee between its members. No payment will be made to a member until his or her total royalty has reached £ 10 or more. How much a member is paid depends on how much use has been made of his/her's registered works. This is called the apportionment process:

For example, if broadcaster X pays a commission of £ 100,000 as a license fee for a year, Eos will split the £ 100,000 over four quarters of the year, which is £ 25,000 every 3 months ...

6. If PRS data shows that broadcaster X used 5,000 minutes of Eos repertoire in a quarter, Eos divides the quarter's license fee (£ 25,000) by the use minutes of the quarter (5,000). This gives broadcaster X's minute rate for that quarter at £ 5.
Each different broadcaster will have a different minute rate each quarter depending on their license fee and how much use they make of the Eos repertoire ...

7. After finding the quarter minute scale, Eos looks at how many minutes each individual work was used. For example, if broadcaster X broadcast a work for a total of 23 minutes in a quarter, that work will earn 23 times X broadcaster's minute rate of £ 115 ...
8. 8. Once each broadcaster's license fee for the charter has been split between the works used during that quarter, Eos then looks at which members claim on those works. For example, with the work broadcast for 23 minutes, if there are 2 members of Eos owning 50% of the rights each, the proceeds of the work will be split between the two, which is £ 115 ÷ 2 = £ 57.50 each ...
